Our story

Optima Nutricosmetics is the brainchild of two industry experts and friends – Cate Lilja and Karissa Mather.

It is a culmination of our own healing journeys – spanning everything from adrenal burnout to bowel cancer – along with a combined four decades’ experience within the cosmetics and nutrition industries.

Sustainability practices

Sustainability and social responsibility are critical to every decision we make. We work with suppliers and partners who share our passion for the environment and respect for their employees. From being a proud signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) to our ethically sourced ingredients, every aspect of our business ensures the highest standards.

Certified sustainable collagen

We only use marine collagen from producers who are certified sustainable in accordance with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards. That means all the collagen used in our unique formula is ethically sourced from North Atlantic waters. This particular kind of sustainable collagen has also been the subject of clinical trials for its impact on hydration and skin health.

Sustainable packaging commitment

Since we began developing the first product in the Optima range, we had big dreams of making sustainable product packaging a cornerstone of our ethical policy. As a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), and through proactive partnerships with our innovative packaging suppliers, Optima is well on its way to achieving this goal.
